Goal
McLean boasts a variety of parks and modern recreation facilities that people of all ages and interests can enjoy.

Strategies

  1. Make improvements to existing recreational facilities
  2. Install a splash pad
  3. Offer recreation opportunities for adults
  4. Install new inviting signage to encourage people to use recreation resources
  5. Develop a trail with exercise stations (PAR course)

Current and Ongoing Projects, Programs, Events, and Activities

  • Community Garden
  • Food Forest & Gleaning Program
  • Clean-up Day
  • Adopt-a-Pot
  • Water Tower Park
  • Planting trees at the Park District: ParCORE is working in cooperation with Park District staff to plant 50 pine trees as a windbreak along the western edge of the Park District grounds.
  • Signage at the Park District: ParCORE is working in cooperation with the TCOB Committee for new signage highlighting the features of the Park District building and grounds.
